DOWNING STUDY EXPERIENCE

I made this article because I experienced studied in both High rank University and low rank University. These are UI and UIN IB Padang.

Maybe everyone knows about University of Indonesia, it is the best University in Indonesia. But what about UIN IB Padang? Maybe just a few people know it. And yes, it is. We will talk about the facility, students, lecturers, some academic environment and students activity like organization.

First, facility. In UI the facility is complete, from the classes with full AC, projector, the chairs, tables everything is good. Or maybe excellent, everything is clean, no garbage. There is also a little green space, make it more fresh. For the University that is located in a warm weather and warm air I think it is very useful.

Next, about the transportation. There is a bus  known as Bis Kuning (Bikun), Sepeda Kuning for students' transportation. So the students don’t need to be worry about going everywhere they want, no more cost they need to pay because the transportation is free. Yeah, UI is very Huge, so the existence of a free bus is very important.

Then, For student academic purposes, the university also equipped with library, UI has the largest library in south-east asian continent. And it is also make UI become great in my country.

The students are great. Maybe because they are chosen from the best of the best. The academic is very hard. I could feel it. I was a student there in Information Systems, and I personally thought that was very hard. The lesson, worksheet, assignment, ah, I was almost dying there. :p. but it will make a better human resource, yes, it was hard, but it still not hard enough to make my country become great. Still some students who graduated there don’t get job easily. Ok beside some regular classes there is still some extended classes waiting, like tutorial, assistance class and some activity like students association. It was very tiring for me.

The lecturers are great too, they are come from across my country, they are graduated among greatest university all over the world, like Monash University and so on. And most of them I would say care about the students and the growth of their students.

Compare to UIN IB Padang, oh no, it is just like sky and earth, king and slaves. Very different, in UIN IB you will not see the AC, even some fan, no projectors, many broken chairs and it become heat in the classes, for me specially so hard to concentrate. It is not confortable at all. The library is very very small for a University scale. The books isn't complete. The student is not great compare to UI. They don't have a good mindset about study, and how to become a good students. Most of them don't like to read and extended literature. What a shame. The lecturers also not great compared to UI. There is only a few lecturers that are graduated from overseas. And many of them only graduated from some Universities in Padang.

I am a student at English department now, maybe it is the reason why I feel like this, because in UI, English student is also have a lack of knowledge. And why I chose this is because I really think that englsh would save my dark life. Lol

But something that make it better here is we learn about Islam more. Because the basis of the University is Islamic environment. But what make it irony is some students still couldn't read Quran well.

Yeah I know that I just downing my experience of study, from UI to UIN IB Padang, but it happened for some reasons, my mom, my illness and the circumstance. Yeah I was confused how to continue my life before.

It is really hard for me to accept it but I try to deal with it.
